Daniel Chapter One has five experts—scientists, doctors, and herbal experts -- willing to tes-
tify on behalf of DCO before the FTC Administrative Law Judge (FTC vs DC1). However, the
FTC seeks to dismiss all five. If successful, what will the FTC have blocked the judge from
hearing?
“I share the idea that the body has its own healing capacity. These seven herbs put together
would assist the innate healing capacity of the body. Most of these things are an anti-inflam-
matory, and one of the definitions of disease is inflammation of soft tissue.”
Jim Dews, Dews Research, world renowned herbal expert; on 7 Herb Formula
“Cancer is a particular instance where whole body healing approaches make far more scien-
tific sense than relying solely on pharmaceutical approaches. . . The narrow focus on the
single drug-single disease/symptom treatment option has caused incalculable harm and held
back a truly interdisciplinary scientific health paradigm, approaches that have been found to
promote healing the whole person.
All whole person approaches have this in common, that they strengthen the individual’s own
resources – generally called the immune system – to achieve and maintain health. Natural
products are a major part of this effect, by raising the overall ability to resist, endure, recover.”
Rustum Roy, Ph.D., Scientist, Penn. State University; on DC1 principles and practice
“I began using their (DC1) products and found them to be quite valuable. More important,
I spent large amounts of time using my scientific training to evaluate the effects of the
products on myself and to pursue and master the underlying scientific principles upon
which the products are based.
There are basically four conceptual ideas that Jim Feijo has talked with me about and
that I’ve explored: the notion of the smallness of the particlesassessing the immune
systemcreating the energy framework the timing of the consumption of the products
I have personally evaluated all of these concepts in my personal situation and I’ve talked
to others, both health professionals and other athletes, about them. I have concluded and
it is my opinion that DC1 brings a highly credible scientific rigor to their products.”
Jay Lehr, Ph.D., Scientist, Author, Triathlete; on credibility of DC1
Professor, Ohio State University
“For the past 22 years, I have witnessed the tremendous value that changes in lifestyle,
diet, and the correct use of nutritional and herbal supplements can provide. The body has im-
mense self-healing capacities, which when properly supported can respond and heal from
even serious diseases. Based on my experience and expertise,(as well as the research
above), I hold the following opinions: There is reasonable basis to claim that the ingredients
of GDU contain bromelain, a source of natural proteolytic enzymes from pineapple, which
helps to digest unwanted protein. GDU also contains turmeric, feverfew, and quercetin,
which help to reduce inflammation and relieve pain. Next, it is reasonable to claim that these
ingredients as a whole may be used as an adjunct to cancer therapy, and that the ingredients
possess a wide range of actions as anti-inflammatory agents. There is reasonable basis
to claim that the ingredients of 7 Herb Formula fight tumor formation and fight pathogenic
bacteria.
There is reasonable basis to claim that the ingredients of BioMixx boost the immune
system, build lean body mass and support healing. It is also reasonable to claim that these
ingredients assist the body in fighting cancer, cachexia, and in healing the destructive
effects of radiation and chemotherapy treatments.
There is reasonable basis for the claims that pure skeletal tissue of sharks (BioShark)
provides a protein that inhibits angiogenesis—the formation of new blood vessels. It is also
reasonable to claim that angiogenesis has been demonstrated to inhibit tumor growth in
some studies.”
Sally Lamont, N.D. L.Ac.; on substantiation for DC1 product information
Professor, San Fransisco State U.
“Herbal based and nutritional food information can be drawn from the Bible. Herbs, including
those from the Bible, provide help to the health of people that can be as good as or superior
to help provided by pharmaceuticals.”
Significant science, as set out below, supports herbal use, and a system – which I call a
third arm to a standard pharmaceutical study – could establish the value of herbs to the
scientific gold standard urged by conventional science. Without an approach like the third
arm approach, it will never be possible to find sufficient resources to run classical pharma-
ceutical studies on whole herbs, let alone to evaluate the hundreds of single chemical entities
in each herb.
In the meantime, the public should not be denied access to the information available that
certain herbs have credible evidence that they contribute to healing, even for conditions such
as cancer.”
James A. Duke, Ph.D. Botany, Author; on evidence of efficacy of DC1 7 Herb Formula,
GDU, BioMixx, Economic Botanist (retired) US Dept of Agriculture
